I am passionate about working with teachers, parents and students with special needs. My goal is to continue my work both inside and outside of the classroom, coaching teachers and teams and working with families as an advocate for change.

My journey began over 10 years ago working in a special education classroom with students who had severe disabilities. Since that time, I began working in general education classrooms. I have met many parents who simply did not have knowledge on what exactly it is that is best for their students. I have worked with many general curriculum teachers who did not know how to co-teach and work with students who have a disability. Parents who were at a loss during the IEP process and teachers who are overwhelmed with the demand of having to teach both students with and without a disability. The terminology, when the appropriate time to request a meeting is, who to contact with concerns, why a child is being referred to SPED, how to read an IEP or WHAT even is an IEP!?!
Together we can improve assessment scores, report card grades, co-teaching strategies, parent communication, parent involvement and so much more!!
